A Word from the Lord

Perry Wellness Center

PERRY WELLNESS CENTER is a mental health and addiction center that lifts up those with mental illness and additive disorders by improving their quality of life through the Center’s programs. At St. John’s, PWC produces fresh vegetables year round for resale to the public and to feed their clients at their local center. Our first harvest fed 110 people and we have fed thousands since then.  Additionally, the congregation comes together at Christmastime to provide gifts to the Center’s clients and friends.

The Fuller Center for Housing

THE FULLER CENTER FOR HOUSING is dedicated to providing homeownership opportunities to God’s people in need, people who have no other access to owning their own home.  Our work is done through our covenant partner organizations in 80 U.S. cities and 20 other countries.  St. John’s supports the ministry of The Fuller center by providing support to volunteers working in Americus and Sumter County.

Sumter Area Ministerial Association

THE SUMTER AREA MINISTERIAL ASSOCIATION is a collaboration of Sumter Country church with the goal of fostering and advancing causes that are beneficial to the youth and children of our county and to support those in critical need with emergency financial support and medical services.  St. John’s is a member of the Association.\

We sponsor ecumenical Holy Week services and a Thanksgiving service each year, as well as hosting National Day of Prayer service.

We administer the Transient Fund, where we provide vouchers for emergency food, lodging or gas, for people who are passing through our area and in need of assistance. We also run the Community Services Ministry, an assistance program where funds are available to provide help with paying bills
